SIGNIFICANT EUROPEAN COMPOSERS OF WIND ENSEMBLE

2000-2015

An invitation to talk about significant wind ensemble music of the past fifteen years led me to talk about the three works featured in my Homepage for July 1st:

GRAN DUO by Magnus Lindberg

SONATAS by Poul Ruders

MUSIC FOR WINDS by Stanislaw Skrowaczewski

These three works are in my estimation worthy to stand together with the Stravinsky Symphonies of Wind Instruments, and should be in the potential repertoire of any Symphony Orchestra and excellent wind ensemble.

I believe that there are three particularly fine composers of wind orchestral music who have in the past decade or so contributed massively to the repertoire. Browse on their names below to access their website and information about their music.
