Laszlo Marosi reports that he conducted the world premiere of a fine Harp Concerto by the Colombian composer Pedro Sarmiento with the Banda Sinfonica de Cordoba, one of the few professional wind bands in the world. The concert on September 28 was at the Teatro del Libertador, Cordoba, and the programme included Goldmark’s Overture to the Queen of Sheba, and two works by Hungarian composers, the suite from King Pomade by Gyorgy Ranki and Symphony Save the Sea by Frigyes Hidas.
